SECURITIES LAW (CONFÉRENCE EN ANGLAIS)

The conference will be an introduction to securities. The topics to be covered include the legislative purpose and overview of the Securities Act (Quebec), the move towards harmonization with the other provinces and an overview of National Instruments. The conference will also provide the conceptual background for reporting issuer obligations in terms of timely and continuous disclosure and review the jurisprudence which has evolved in the interpretation and application of these principles. Finally, it will explore the rules regarding insider trading and discuss the various administrative, civil and penal sanctions for failing to respect the provisions of the Act.
